Matt Braaten

President & CEO

Matt Braaten has over twenty years of experience in the energy and finance sectors. A graduate of the University of Alberta School of Business, Matt is a designated Chartered Accountant. For the past ten years, Matt has held senior executive and leadership positions of organizations participating in the energy services, oil and gas, and power production industries.

Jason White

Chief Operating Officer

Jason White is a professional engineer with senior management experience in the energy service, midstream, and aviation sectors. Jason graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Most recently, he managed the Reliability Services division at Westpower, a leading North American rotating equipment solutions provider. Prior to Westpower, Jason was employed by Avmax, an organization which specializes in engineering related services for the aviation industry.


Ryan Marx

Vice President Operations

As an energy sector professional, Ryan Marx has over 29 years of diverse and progressive energy sector knowledge. Ryan has proven leadership, relationship building, technical skills, and consistently produces results in operational performance. Prior to WCSB Power, he held senior field and corporate based operational leadership roles with several major western Canadian energy producers. Ryan continues to combine his technical skills, along with his business acumen, working with the high-performance team at WCSB Power in creating a company-wide best in class operations and maintenance management system to drive operational excellence within the organization.

Taylor Smith 

Vice President Finance

Taylor Smith is a designated Chartered Accountant with nearly a decade of experience in accounting and finance, with exposure to a variety of industries through his previous work experiences. Prior to joining WCSB Power, Taylor worked for seven years at an international accounting firm within the Audit and Corporate Restructuring departments. In addition to obtaining his Chartered Accountant designation in 2015, Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. Taylor also sits on the Board of Directors for the Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Shelter.

Chairman

Adam is Vice President, Infrastructure Investments at TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM). He joined the firm in early 2017, and is responsible for origination, evaluation and monitoring of TDAM’s Infrastructure assets. Adam is involved in asset management for the Swedish wind platform, Rabbalshede Kraft, Canadian Airport Development LP and WCSB Power Generation.

Adam has nearly 10 years of experience investing globally in direct infrastructure and private equity. Prior to joining the firm, Adam was an associate with CPPIB’s infrastructure team with experience in its Toronto and London, England offices, where he deployed approximately $6 billion in equity in transactions with enterprise values of approximately $18 billion.

Adam has a Bachelor of Commerce in finance and accounting from McGill University.

Director

Bruce is Vice President and Director, Infrastructure Investments at TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM). He joined the Infrastructure team in early 2019 in a role that includes new investment review, asset quality and monitoring, portfolio oversight, compliance, valuations, fund audit process and team operations.

Prior to joining TD Greystone, Bruce was Chief Credit Officer, Rail and Aviation at Element Corp/ECN Capital Corporation. He has over 30 years of investment, fund management and capital markets experience across the energy, infrastructure, transportation and commercial real estate sectors, managing over $15 billion in assets and risk in over 40 countries.  He has held various senior roles at DBRS Limited, CIT Group, RBC Dominion Securities and Export Development Canada in Toronto, New York, London, Ottawa and Barbados.

Bruce has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics as well as in History and Math, both from Queen’s University.

Director

Jeff Mouland is Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure at TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM). Jeff joined the Toronto office in early 2012 with responsibility for developing and implementing the firm’s Infrastructure Strategy.

With an infrastructure career that has spanned over 25 years, Jeff’s investing and asset management track record includes more than 90 transactions in excess of $5 billion of invested capital.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeff worked on the Infrastructure Investments team at Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) in Montreal, where he had multi-sector responsibility for global deal sourcing and execution, as well as the active development of an emerging market direct investment and strategic fund investment strategy.

Prior to PSP, Jeff spent 14 years in New York, focusing on equity investing and project financing within the infrastructure and energy sectors. During that time, he held a variety of senior investment management positions, most notably with Industry Funds Management, DA Capital and CIT Group. Jeff began his career as a civil engineer with Peter Kiewit Sons, where he had construction and engineering responsibilities across a range of international projects in the oil and gas, power and transportation sectors.

Jeff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil) from Memorial University and an MBA (Finance) from McGill University.

Director

Tony is Associate, Infrastructure Investments at TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM). He joined the firm in early 2017 and is involved in the evaluation and execution of new investments in the infrastructure sector. Tony is also involved in the asset management of TDAM’s investments in Rabbalshede Kraft, Canadian Airport Development LP, and WCSB Power Generation.

Tony has a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Waterloo.
